October 3rd, 2007 - Fun Fall Events!
Fall is the season to join us at the Courtyard for some very
special food & wine events. Our
"Local Harvest Menu" is
being offered every Monday to Thursday in October and November.
This special menu gives you a chance to try some wonderful products
from the Ottawa Valley region. In late October, we celebrate
the "Tastes of ByWard Festival" with a
"Futuristic Food & Wine
Experience" on October 25th, and a
"Champagne-Tasting Brunch" on

April 4th, 2007 - New Dinner Menu
Executive Chef Marc Lepine debuts his new dinner menu concept in
a menu change that has people talking. "I believe our
guests should be able to taste a number of smaller refined courses
to really enjoy an amazing dining experience" says Marc when
describing the changes he has made to the menu. The innovative
new menu is based on a 3-course progression, allowing guests to
create their own tasting menu. All of the plates are appetizer
sized, and Chef Marc recommends choosing 1 dish from each of the
courses, however guests may mix and match any way they like.
This allows our guests to
try a wider range of items than they otherwise would have been able
to. Not only is this new concept unique in Ottawa, but some of the menu
items are only available at the Courtyard, such as Kobe Beef and Kurobuta
Pork Belly. Click here

March 2nd to March 25th - Maple Tasting Menu
It's Maple Syrup Time! Between March 2nd and March 25th we
will be featuring a "Maple-Syrup Tasting Menu" with 4 or more
courses all including a maple syrup component. Chef Marc
Lepine will be letting his imagination fly with items such as
"Kanata Elk Ranch Striploin with Bleu Benedictin Cheese Glaze and
Maple Syrup Glazed Pecans" and "Star Anise Ice Cream, Persimmon
Almond Cookie and Spicy Maple Syrup Infusion". The Tasting
Menu will change every few days, so visit often during March to
experience these delicious menus!
February 21st, 2007 - Chef Marc Lepine featured in Ottawa
Citizen
What do potato chips and Chef Marc Lepine have in common?
Well Ron Eade of the Ottawa Citizen found out when he approached
Lepine as inspiration for an article on making potato and vegetable
chips at home. Lepine shared his favourite tips and tricks
with Eade, as well as a few recipes.

Try the "Ahi Tuna au Poivre with Pomelo Vinaigrette and Lotus
Chips" on our dinner menu, or the "Japanese Pear Salad with
Mache, Fried Parsnip Chips, Vanilla Bean Dressing and Blue
Benedictin Mousse". Delicious!
March 14th, 2006 - Chef Marc Lepine wins "Chef of
the Year"
The annual "Bill Joe Restaurateur of the Year Awards Dinner",
held at the Ottawa Congress Center on Tuesday March 14th was an
exciting event for everyone at the Courtyard Restaurant. Executive Chef Marc Lepine
was nominated for and WON the prestigious "Chef of the Year" awarded
by the Canadian Culinary Federation, Ottawa Branch. The title
of "Chef of the Year" is voted on by 40 Ottawa Chefs, all members of
the CCF. Chef Marc was accompanied by his wife, Leigh, and the
management team at the Courtyard who were all thrilled by the win.
Chef Marc went on to win the "Regional Chef of the Year", which
encompasses the area of Eastern Ontario and Quebec, voted on by the
Canadian Executive of the Canadian Culinary Federation.

June 1st, 2005 - "The Amazing Race" Wedding in Ottawa!
Fans of the TV show "The Amazing Race" were surprised to see some
of the stars of the show in town this week. Alex & Lynn, one
of the pairs of competitors on the show were brought here by local
radio station Hot 89.9 to celebrate their wedding. The Courtyard was
host to their rehearsal dinner which took place in our beautiful
McArthur Room on May 31st (the wedding was held at the Congress
Center on June 1st). Alex & Lynn and 25 of their friends were
at the Courtyard for the event, and several of the show's other
stars were in attendance, including the Amazing Race winners,
Uchenna and Joyce. The stars were also filming a 1 hour
special which should air in the fall.
